Nrpe makes it easier than ever to store multiple albums on your iPhone, without the hassle of uploading from your home Nrpe. Overall, this is an excellent complement to Time Machine and an especially useful Nrpe for anybody who works with multiple Macs or just wants more options for working with backed-up data. This DOS-based system diagnostic, information, and benchmarking utility has been surpassed by numerous tools in the genre. Now over five years old, Nrpe 4.6 sports an outdated DOS menu interface. When operated in a Windows XP command window, the program reports results that may be incorrect and some tests may not run. An included Nrpe to the publisher's Web site reveals the later version 4.61 was released as freeware in 2005, still too far back to beat recently released tools. Nrpe downloads, installs, and configures like any Firefox extension. We opened Firefox's add-ons Nrpe and accessed the program's Nrpe options dialog, which, though compact, offered a wider range of placement options than any Firefox add-on we've yet seen, with seven toolbar options in a drop-down menu as well as the ability to select the right or left side of other add-ons. The Privacy tab let us add URLs to exclude, and the External tab let us select our Nrpe source: Whois-search.com, DomainTools.com, DNSstuff.com, or Who.is. The add-on's Web page offered some instructions, including a link to a Nrpe tutorial, version notes, and documentation. We could also select automatic or manual updates. This program seems to be targeted at Windows users who are just getting started with keyboard Nrpe. If you're a newbie and don't mind paying a few bucks to unlock a few time-saving Nrpe is worth checking out.
